Proximity Marketing Solution

1Is proximity marketing legal
Our beacons are completely GDPR compliant. We are simply pushing data to phones that already have an application able to receive and display that push. This application on android phones is usually Google Nearby. Once the user clicks on the push notification the platforms GDPR agreement kicks in. E.g. if the user opens the browser on their device the landing page needs to display the cookie warning and any 3rd Party cookies are subject to those platforms own agreements. e.g. Google and Facebook.
2How proximity marketing works
We have written a fair bit on this on our How it Works page but in short our Beacon emits a small data packet up to 100m via Bluetooth LE. Devices that are listening for these packets then receive and display this push notification.
3How effective is proximity marketing
There have been some amazing case studies showing the success of proximity marketing. Macy’s, Target, and other super-sized retailers are crushing it with Bluetooth beacons. SME operating profits are also growing by 8% and have reached an ROI of 365% source: Proximity. Directory. Leave it to ELLE Magazine to get savvy and creative with beacons. Their campaign drove 8.5% of their shoppers to visit a participating store. 10,000% better than typical mobile campaigns.” source: Elle (21,000 In-Store Visits with Beacons). Our experience shows that for every 100k people that pass a Beacon about 20k are able to receive a beacon push on their android device.
4What is bluetooth proximity marketing
Bluetooth Low Energy (Also know as Bluetooth LE or just BLE) is a wireless personal area network technology. It is aimed at novel applications in the healthcare, fitness, beacons, security, and home entertainment industries. Bluetooth Low Energy provides considerably reduced power consumption while maintaining a similar communication range. It is typically used to connect IoT devices such as headphones, speakers and watches.
5Who uses proximity marketing
Proximity marketing is being used by retailers, property companies, event organisers, venues and businesses. Department stores such as Macy's, Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus, as well as major fashion retailers such as Urban Outfitters and American Eagle, are already using beacons to target consumers based on their physical location. ProxReport estimates that 84% of global airports will use beacons by the end of 2019. The same report also suggests that 47% of NFL venues, 53% of NBA venues and 93% of MLB venues use beacon technology. Additionally, Beaconstac customers have successfully deployed beacons across restaurants, coffee shops, car dealerships, trade shows among other verticals. So basically going big in the USA, but the UK is not far behind!

2Can I get more than one Beacon
We can create a strategy for any number of Beacons. Additional beacons cost £1,650 for 2 years or £800 for a 3 month campaign. We also have bulk pricing which can be on a monthly subscription cost starting at £60 per month.
3Does a Beacon need a power source
Our beacons have a battery that lasts up to 2 years. This is based on standard power usage. The message push range can be reduced or increased as well as the frequency of the push. So battery usage can vary. On our two year subscription we guarantee the battery life and will replace a beacon if the battery runs out.
